Ushara Dilrukshan and Sonnie Carlebach: Giulia Tofana / 2026

Over five days, Ushara Dilrukshan and Sonnie Carlebach develop Giulia Tofana with an ensemble of movement artists and vocalists, including members of NYX. Beginning with a site-responsive set designed by Anousha Payne and Fiona Campbell, the work evolves through improvisation, collective composition and embodied experimentation, allowing scenography to shape the performers' movement, voices and spatial relationships.

Inspired by the abstract operatic language of Meredith Monk and the choreographic sensibility of Pina Bausch, the project treats collaboration as its methodology. Sound, movement, architecture and design emerge together through a shared process of making, culminating in live performances over the closing weekend.
