About

A platform where design is not only exhibited but experienced, BROMPTON DESIGN DISTRICT is London’s original design district.
Established in 2006 by South Kensington Estates—whose heritage spans over two centuries—the District brings together a unique constellation of international design brands, independent retailers, pioneering cultural institutions, and celebrated local hospitality.
Set within the world’s first cultural quarter, stretching from the V&A to Brompton Road, Brompton has continually redefined what a design district can be. Each year, during the London Design Festival, the District becomes a focal point for temporary exhibitions that challenge, inspire, and engage.

In 2025, we welcome British-Italian curator, writer and gallerist Alex Tieghi-Walker as the new curator of our London Design Festival programme. Known for his work at the intersection of craft, material culture and storytelling, and as founder of TIWA Select Gallery in New York, Tieghi-Walker brings a deeply personal, emotionally resonant curatorial approach to Brompton. His vision builds on the legacy of Jane Withers Studio, promising an evocative programme of exhibitions designed to connect guests to materials, people, and place through narrative and experience.
