Madrid-based designer Jorge Penadés will unveil a strikingly simple but highly intelligent nomadic pavilion that will pop-up throughout the course of London Design Festival in three public spaces in Brompton. Inspired by the biomechanics of the human body, the pavilion is a lightweight structure constructed from minimal materials just kinesiology tape and plywood sheets. Using the tape to connect large plywood sheets/boards, Penadés offers a simple but compelling demonstration of how biomimicry and the human body might inform a discipline such as architecture. Or, in other words, how design can learn from nature.
Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) supports the Traceless installation and the participation of spanish designer Jorge Penadés through the Programme for the Internationalisation of Spanish Culture (PICE).
