Gallery Libby Sellers
Strativarious
14 May — 6 June
29 Thurloe Place
Strativarious, a selling exhibition organised by Libby Sellers’ guerrilla gallery, celebrates the rich layers of contemporary design with works from four of the most exciting designers today. The exclusive commissions and selected works will include the ethereal and poetic Lightweeds project by Simon Heidjens, Peter Marigold’s mesmerising vortex mirrors, Nicolas le Moigne’s Slip stools made from Eternit in association with ECAL and an exclusive new dinnerware series by Khashayar Naimanan and Nymphenburg porcelain.
After five years as curator at the Design Museum in London, Sellers established the gallery during London’s Design Festival and Frieze art fair in 2007. The first exhibition, Grandmateria, was described as a highlight of the festival and the roaming gallery then made its international debut at DesignMiami/ in December 2007. Strativarious hopes to build on these successes while continuing the gallery’s remit to support and promote emerging design.
The temporary location has been made possible through the generous support of the Brompton Design Project; supporting the partnership between the creative and business sectors in an area known for its historic links with design.
